Houston Community College continues to monitor COVID-19 and take proactive and prudent measures to protect the health and safety of students, faculty and staff in accordance with the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

With the COVID-19 risk level in the Houston area rising, HCC is taking precautions to further limit on-campus activity for the start of the Spring 2021 semester. This includes changes to course delivery for our Flex Campus and select Lab-Based courses, as well as changes to the availability of in-person student support services.

As we bring the Fall semester to a close and prepare for the holidays, I want to share a few updates about plans for instructional delivery and student support for the Spring 2021 semester.

Safe Learning Environment - College Your Way
HCC offers a safe, affordable, flexible college experience. With four different options for learning, every student has the opportunity to find a learning option that works for them! Learn about the four options and feel good when you come back to school.

If you are a student and are experiencing symptoms or have concerns about being exposed, please:
- Stay home.
- Contact your healthcare provider.
- If you are supposed to be on campus for class, complete the HCC COVID-19 Pre-Screening questionnaire which will start our follow-up process. Also, let your faculty member know. We are committed to doing everything we can to help you navigate things while remaining safe and at home until you’re cleared to return to campus.
- If you do not need to be on campus, you do not need to complete a self-report form. Still reach out to your faculty member so they are aware and can work with you to determine next steps for completing your assignments.
If you are a faculty or staff member and are experiencing symptoms or have concerns about being exposed, please:
- Stay home.
- Contact your healthcare provider.
- If you are supposed to be on campus, complete the HCC COVID-19 Pre-Screening questionnaire which will start our follow-up process.
- If you do not need to be on campus, fill out this Employee Self-Reporting Form and a staff member will contact you within 24 hours to obtain additional information and offer you assistance.
HCC is spearheading the creation and implementation of H-Force
HCC is spearheading the creation and implementation of H-Force – a crisis collaborative of educational institutions, independent school districts and entrepreneurial organizations brought together to address the personal protective equipment (PPE) shortages for the first responders and healthcare workers on the front lines fighting COVID-19.
