Steps to Apply and Enroll

Step 1: Admissions Application (Future/New Students Only)

Based on your educational goals, you can fill out one of the five admissions applications described below

The online admissions application is for students who have never enrolled in a course at Houston Community College. If you already have an HCC student ID, please do not submit another application. Having multiple applications in the system with multiple student IDs can lead to problems with tracking documents, so please do not submit another application if you have submitted one before.

  • Degree-Seeking Application (not for F-1 students) | Click here to learn areas of study for our degree options.  
    This application is for:
    • Students seeking college credit.
    • Students seeking Certificates of Completion; Associate degrees in Arts, Sciences, Teaching and Applied Science.
    • Students seeking to transfer credit to other colleges or universities.
    • * Students wanting to attend college-level courses as a dual-credit student should use this application.

  • F-1 International Student Application | Click here to connect with the Office of International Student Services & Study Abroad (OISS&SA). This application is for:
    • Students holding or seeking an F-1 student status/visa who want to complete Intensive English courses, Associate Degrees or Certificates.
    • F-1 students seeking to transfer credit to other colleges and universities.

  • Continuing Education Application | Click here to connect with the Office of Continuing Education
    This application is for: 
    • Students interested in short-term classes for job training, general knowledge, to learn a new skill, to upgrade existing skills or to explore personal interests.
    • Students seeking a certificate of completion in preparation for certification and licensure exam. 

  • Adult Education Application (not for F-1 students) | Click here to connect with the Office of Adult Education.
    This application is for:
    • Students seeking High School Equivalency (HSE) classes designed to improve basic skills and prepare students for the HSE examinations (GED, HiSET, or TASC).
    • ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages) students wanting to speak, read, and write English.
    • Career4U Academy for students who want to receive a workforce certificate in high-growth occupations.
    • Students who want to attend TSI Boot Camp to prepare for the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment.

    This application is for:
    • Students seeking credit recovery and/or original credit toward high school graduation requirements.
    • Students seeking to recover/complete credit to receive a high school diploma. 

 

Step 2: Enrollment Checklists

Your To-do List may have four types of checklist items in your Student Center: policy, onboarding/pre-enrollment; financial aid; or other.

I. ONBOARDING AND PRE-ENROLLMENT CHECKLIST | To avoid delays in the processing of your application, please visit myeagle.hccs.edu; select "Student Sign In"; and select "Checklist" box/tile to complete all To-do List items on the Onboarding and Pre-enrollment Checklist. 

 

II. POLICY CHECKLISTS | To avoid delays in the processing of your application, please visit myeagle.hccs.edu; select "Student Sign In"; and select "Checklist" box/tile to complete all To-do List items on the Policy Checklist

  • Campus Carry Training
  • Consent to Text Messaging
  • Financial Responsibility
  • Residency: Any change, or request for a change in residency status should be submitted along with supporting documentation by email to the enrollment office of the college you will attend. Click here for Residency details.
  • Title IX

IV. OTHER CHECKLISTS | To avoid delays in the processing of your application, please visit myeagle.hccs.edu; select "Student Sign In"; and select "Checklist" box/tile to complete all To-do List items on the Other Checklist. The Other Checklist may include, but is not limited to: 

  • Veterans: For updates on how to contact Veteran’s Office during COVID- 19 campus closure, please click here.
  • F-1 International: For updates on how to contact International’s Office during COVID- 19 campus closure, please click here.

 

Step 4: Enroll in Classes

  • Campuses are closed. All classes (online, online on a schedule, lab and flex campus) will begin online for 6 weeks.

    • Safe in-person instruction option for Lab-based and Flex Campus courses will begin on October 5After October 5, students will have option to participate online or in-person on campus. Classes are being equipped with camera equipment to make this possible. More info will come closer to October.
    • You will login into courses on Eagle Online (eagleonline.hccs.edu) on the first day of class. For help with it, please click here

Update or Change Account Information

Throughout the admissions and enrollment process, you may need to submit additional documentation to fulfill requirements for enrollment or to update your records.

You can access and download the Admissions and Enrollment Forms by clicking here. It’s important that you make submitting requested documentation a priority. Not doing so could result in processing delays or enrollment holds.

Virtual Open Houses: Register for Virtual Open houses scheduled to help new students learn steps to apply and enroll. Multiple start dates are available.
