Talents or Hobbies, or Something People Don’t Know About You
I have been skydiving! Most people don’t know that I am courageous, and I enjoy thrilling activities!
Why did you enroll at HCC Coleman College?
I enrolled at HCC Coleman College based on its excellent testing performance and well-versed connections. I also felt supported during my enrollment time.
Why did you choose your program of study?
I chose Respiratory Therapy because it mends well with my outgoing personality while adding patient care on top of it. This field will give me the best of both worlds, so I know I will enjoy going to work every day, which will enhance my capabilities and improve patient outcomes.
What do you like best about your college experience?
The meaningful connections that I have made from staff to classmates is the best thing about my college experience. I have met so many amazing people on Coleman’s campus.
What do you like best about your program of study?
I enjoy attending clinical the most. It is where I get to put what I have learned in the classroom setting into real practice.
When you are tired, what motivates you to push forward?
From a personal perspective, God and my family push me to keep moving forward because I know they believe in me.
From a broader perspective, I would say knowing that patients need people with my qualifications in the hospital pushes me as well. If we don’t provide care this specialized care, who will?
What advice can you offer to help other students succeed?
My advice will be to never lose sight of the end goal. The journey will be hard, consuming, and sometimes miserable, but I have come to learn that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Any final thoughts?
I would like to thank Dr. Jackson for nominating me, and I would also like to extend my thanks to other lovely staff members that make the respiratory program what it is. The constant push for change and evolution in the program is commendable.
