HCC Board of Trustees elects officers for 2026

The Houston City College (HCC) Board of Trustees unanimously elected its 2026 Board Officers at the Jan. 21, 2026, Regular meeting. The Officers will serve as the Executive Committee of the Board.
Trustee Eva Loredo, District VIII, will continue serving as Board Chair. Trustee Sean Cheben, District V, was elected as Vice Chair, after previously serving as Secretary, and Dr. Cynthia Lenton-Gary, District VII, was chosen to take over the Secretary role.
Chair Loredo thanked the outgoing Executive Committee for its service and reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the mission and priorities of HCC.
“I am honored to continue serving as Board Chair, and I look forward to working alongside this Executive Committee and Board as we build on our momentum and continue strengthening Houston City College for the students, faculty and communities we serve," Chair Loredo said.
Chancellor Margaret Ford Fisher, Ed.D., echoed the chair, noting the board members’ devotion to public service.
“Strong governance is essential to institutional progress,” the Chancellor said. “I look forward to working in close partnership with the Board to ensure Houston City College continues delivering high-quality education, workforce pathways, and meaningful outcomes for students and the region.
