Why did you choose HCC Coleman College?
I chose HCC Coleman College because of its strong reputation in healthcare education and its focus on practical, career-ready training.
Why did you choose your program of study?
I chose Histo Tech because I was interested in the behind-the-scenes role of laboratory work and how it directly supports diagnosis and patient care. I wanted to develop strong technical skills in tissue processing and contribute to the healthcare team in a meaningful way.
I pursued my BAS because I wanted to build on my clinical experience and transition into leadership within the healthcare system.
What did you like best about your college experience?
During the Histo Tech program, I valued the hands-on training and the opportunity to apply what I learned directly in a lab setting. It helped me build confidence and real-world skills.
During the BAS program, I appreciated the supportive learning environment and how the coursework connected directly to real healthcare settings. It helped me see the bigger picture of how healthcare systems operate.
What did you like best about your program of study?
In the Histo Tech program, I enjoyed learning the technical processes, such as embedding, microtomy, and staining, and understanding how each step impacts diagnostic accuracy.
In the BAS program, I enjoyed gaining insight into healthcare operations, leadership, and strategies to improve quality and efficiency.
When you were tired, what motivated you to push forward?
My career goals and the opportunity to create a better future for myself kept me focused in the Histo Tech and BAS programs. My career goals and dream of a better future still motivate me as I pursue my master's degree!
What advice can you offer to help other students succeed?
Stay disciplined, manage your time wisely, and take advantage of every learning opportunity.
What do you like best about your work?
I enjoy knowing that my work supports patient care and contributes to the overall healthcare process.
How did your education change or improve your life?
Histo Tech gave me a strong foundation in laboratory skills and allowed me to start my career in healthcare with confidence and stability.
My bachelor's expanded my career opportunities and gave me the confidence to grow into leadership roles.
