Houston Literacy Consortium

The Houston Literacy Consortium is made up of a number of high profile nonprofit agencies that deliver Adult Education and Literacy services on behalf of Houston Community College (HCC). Each agency must meet the same standards for faculty credentialing, professional development, and program performance as HCC.

HCC acts as fiscal agent for the Houston Literacy Consortium and also provides Adult Education and Literacy services directly at selected college campuses and at convenient community locations.

Funding for Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) programs is provided by the Gulf Coast Workforce Development Board. AEL programs part of the Workforce Solution system of services.
