Student Engagement Survey
Community College Survey of Student Engagement
The Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) was developed for community colleges to:
• Help them assess the extent to which educational practices promote high levels of student learning and persistence and
• Identify areas in which they can improve their programs and services for students.
HCC uses the results as part of our institutional effectiveness cycle to assess 5 key benchmarks: Active and Collaborative Learning; Student Effort; Academic Achievement; Student/Faculty Interaction; and Support for Learners. The survey is administered annually to a sample of students and results shared through a series of reports at both the district and college level.
