Commuting to the Coleman College campus

As a member institution of the Texas Medical Center, no on-campus parking exists for the college. Two of the easier options for reaching the campus are public transportation using METRO, or parking your personal vehicle across from the campus in the Texas Medical Center parking lot.

Adjacent to the campus is the METRO TMC Transit Center with local and express bus service as well as light rail from the station on Fannin Street. More information on fares and schedules can be found on the METRO website.

Parking your car in the TMC AU lot across from the college will vary in cost, depending on the length of time parked in the facility, up to a maximum of $12/day. However, you may contact TMC and purchase a monthly parking contract providing access to the lot every day at a reduced rate from paying daily parking rates. More information, pricing and contact information is found at the TMC parking website.  The Texas Medical Center operates 15 parking facilities throughout the TMC campus; the AU lot is one such facility, all of which operate independently of Houston Community College and the John B. Coleman M.D., College for Health Sciences. There is also parking available at the Hornberger Center at the corner of Main and Pressler.

Fort Bend County now also offers the Fort Bend Express. This service provides commuter service to the TMC with fixed routes. The Fort Bend Express picks up at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds, University of Houston Sugar Land and the AMC Theater First Colony. The commuter service will leave the park and ride locations between 5:25 a.m. and 8:10 a.m. arriving at the TMC between 6:00 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. The return trips will leave between 4:40 p.m. and 8:17 p.m. There is also a mid day route that will run between 10:55 a.m. and 1:29 p.m. You can download the current schedule here. You will want to get off at the METRO bus stop at the Pressler parking lot across from HCC Coleman College. The cost for this service is $3.50 one way or you may purchase ticket books for $63 which includes 20 one way tickets. More information can be found on the Fort Bend Express website.
