Purpose of Recreational Sports

Recreational Sports provide students the opportunity to engage in physical fitness, athletic competition, and teamwork. It is also a great way for Coleman students to get to know their peers and faculty/ staff members.

Coleman College takes 2nd place in 2009 District Cup Tournament

In the 2009 District Cup Tournament, Coleman College took second place in the final tournament standings. The District Cup is an intramural sports competition between the six colleges in the Houston Community College District. The tournament took place over the course of the 2009 spring semester and included basketball, volleyball, soccer, flag football, and softball.

Coleman College finished behind Northwest College who took the District Cup trophy this year. Coleman was represented in the championship games in Women’s volleyball and co-ed flag football. This was a strong showing for Coleman College who had one of the highest participation rates and winning percentages in the tournament. Congratulations to all our participants for a strong showing!
