- Obama Reaffirms Support for Community Colleges at Signing of Student-Loan Bill
President Obama signed legislation on Tuesday that ends the bank-based lending system for student loans and pours tens of billions of federal dollars into higher education.

With five snips of golden scissors from HCC and TMC officials, a ceremonial ribbon fell to the floor and the HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences Pharmacy Technician Laboratory was officially opened.

President Obama delivered remarks on health care reform to American Nursing Association members at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. In his remarks he spoke of his respect for the nursing profession. Of health care reform, he said, "Now is the time to act, and I will not allow reform to be delayed or imperiled."

- Health Care Career Academy Website Launches
HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences is proud to announce the launch of the Health Care Career Academy web site. This new program, a partnership between the HCC Campuses and HCC Coleman, provides students with basic knowledge and job skills for entry-level positions in health care.

The Texas State Board of Nurses recently presented HCC Coleman's Associate Degree Nursing (RN) Program a commendation in honor of its students passing the state licensure exam at a 94.4 % rate in 2008.
