How To Apply
1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using FAFSA on the Web (5-7 days for results).
2. When you receive your Student Aid Report (SAR), you should contact the Financial Aid Office to see if additional documents are needed. If you have listed the HCC Title IV School Code (010422) on your FAFSA, the financial aid office will receive your information electronically.
3. We have created an online Financial Aid Tutorial presentation to provide you with general information on financial aid.
4. Submit any additional documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office.
5. Once the financial aid office determines your eligibility and makes you a financial aid offer, you will be notified electronically via your student e-mail account when your financial aid award is ready.
6. If you do not want the award that has been offered to you, please logon the People Soft Self-Service to cancel or reduce your award. If you want the award that has been offered to you, you are not required to logon to Self-Service to accept the award, the funds will automatically be applied to your student account. Learn how to access People Soft Self-Service with this guide.
7. If you have a credit balance after your tuition and fees have been paid, it will be applied to your debit card or to your bank account via direct deposit.
Note: To avoid a delay in the processing of your student aid, please complete all Admission processes and testing requirements prior to submitting financial aid documents.
