Welcome to the Human Service Technology Program at Houston Community College System. The fact that you have selected the Human Service Technology Program (HSTP) as your choice of studies indicates that you are indeed a special person. There are a wide range of careers that you will be eligible for upon graduation.
The HSTP is accredited through the Council of Standards for Human Service Education which makes graduates eligible to become a Nationally Certified Human Service Professional through the National Organization of Human Services. For more information about NOHS and the Certified Human Service Profession visit their web site at http://www.nationalhumanservices.org.
As a graduate of the HSTP program you are eligible to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). If you have questions about becoming a LCDC, go to the Department of State Health Services, Substance Abuse web site at http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/sa/default.shtm.
The HSTP has been a member of the Gulf Coast Addiction Technology Transfer Center (GCATTC) since 1993 which is a chapter of the National Addiction Technology Transfer Center (NATTC). As a member of the ATTC network, it ensures that the HSTP is offering the latest evidenced based practice in the field of Substance Use Disorders.
