About The Program

The Histologic Technician Program culminates into an Associate Degree of Applied Science. The Program offers a full-time track that can be completed in two years and a part-time track that will take three years to complete. A new class starts each fall semester. The student attends lectures and participates in student lab activities at the Coleman College of Health Sciences. Further hands-on knowledge is gained during clinical experiences in Texas Medical Center institutions and various other hospitals and clinics throughout the area. Classes conducted at these locations can begin as early as 7:00 a.m. The student is responsible for transportation to and from these locations and for parking fees.

After graduation, the student is eligible to take a national certification exam and gain the title of Histologic Technician.
